This is an adult education program. This may be a great time for the kids to spend time with grandparents or friends, so the adults can enjoy this educational opportunity. International Fall Food Fest – November 12, 2022

Download the Flyer

Every year in the fall our church holds an International Food Fest where the entire parish comes together to cook authentic items from around the world. Everyone participates in planning, shopping, preparing, cooking, baking, setting up, selling, and cleaning up afterward. The International Food Fest proceeds benefit the entire church.

This year the International Food Fest is planned for Saturday, November 12th from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the church fellowship hall. We have many volunteers but could still use more. There are lots of things to do including shopping, washing pans, pots, bowls, and utensils used in preparation which is vital and important parts of the process and crucial to the event’s success.

We will be making and selling many favorites again like Spanakopita, Stuffed Cabbage, Kibbee, Baklava, Stuffed Grape Leaves, Spaghetti Sauce, and Meatballs, Koulourakia, Biscotti, Pizzelles, and many other items including baked goods.

St. Michael Pascha Card 2022

In the tradition of the Myrrh-bearing women who were the first to see the empty tomb and to proclaim the news of the Resurrection, the Women’s Group is recognized as the cornerstone of every parish. This is why our Archdiocese shines a spotlight on Antiochian Women Groups and all their efforts during March every year! Just as we commemorate the Theotokos during the Feast of the Annunciation on March 25 who proclaimed “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be according to your word” (Luke 1:38), so must all of us be prepared to answer His call.

Antiochian Women chapters in our parishes are vital to their churches and to the Archdiocese. Every woman of the parish is a member of Antiochian Women. Since 1975, the Women’s groups have raised over $4 million in support of charitable projects supporting the Archdiocese, not to mention the tireless efforts they put in to raise funds and to nurture their own parishes and communities.

This year’s national project is to support the Cathedral, the Monastery & Cemetery, the Episcopal Retirement Residence and an Independent/Assisted Living Facility for retired hierarchs – all at the Antiochian Village in Bolivar PA. To that end, the Women’s group of St Michael has pledged part of the proceeds from the annual Pascha card to this effort. You will soon be receiving your sign-up form. Please complete it and return to the Women’s Group by April 10 so your name can be included in the Pascha card. If you prefer, a link to the form is here: Pascha Card 2022 Order Form.

As always, we thank you for your generosity and your unwavering commitment to St Michael. May God keep you strong during the upcoming Lenten season.

Christmas Meals 2021

We will be delivering 50 Christmas meals to Faith Family Kitchen on Monday 12/20, and each meal will include a tin of (mostly) homemade cookies…which adds up to 200 dozen cookies! Please consider baking a few dozen (or more) cookies! All cookies need to be at the church by Sunday 12/19 so we can package them and have them ready for delivery the next day. Please speak to Kh. Alyssa if you plan to bake. Thank you!!!

In addition to homemade cookies, we are in need of monetary donations to cover the cost of the grocery store gift cards and the hams that are being given to each family as part of our Christmas meal donation. We are providing 50 families with meals, and your generosity is greatly appreciated! Please give your checks (made out to St. Michael with “Christmas Meals” in the memo) to Kh. Alyssa. Thank you for sharing the light of Christ this Nativity season!

Thanksgiving Meals 2021 – Thank You and Photos

Thank you for donating food, donating money, making phone calls, picking up needed items, and helping deliver and pack the meals for each family! Thank you for your generosity and your time!

Thanksgiving Meals 2021

Once again we are being given the opportunity to provide Thanksgiving meals to families served by Faith Family Kitchen in Hyannis. If you are able to purchase food items, please speak to Kh. Alyssa about what is needed. Monetary donations are also very much appreciated to help purchase the turkeys and other items that will be included in the dinners. Delivery of the meals will be in the morning on Friday, November 19. Please speak to Kh. Alyssa about how you can help!

Thank you for being a blessing to our neighbors in need this Thanksgiving!

“THE ARCHANGELS” Any Occasion Greeting Cards

We are excited to announce that the Archangel icons painted and donated by our own Zoya Sheglov have been made into blank greeting cards for use on any occasion.
The icons were blessed during vesper service on November 7, 2020 to commemorate the Synaxis of the Archangel Michael and the Heavenly Bodiless Powers. They hang in the nave of St Michael.
The cards created out of these icons are a beautiful set of 8, one for each Archangel, that will be available on Sunday as a complete set for only $10. They include the icon, the story of the Archangel, and a prayer to each Archangel.
Thanks to Zoya Sheglov for her beautiful work and generous donation of the icons; to Mircea Dumitrescu for taking the pictures of each icon; and to Ksenia Pryme for formatting the cards and getting them ready to print.
God bless you all for your support of St. Michael!
